Accessibility Statement
Avy is committed to making our digital products usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of our core vision, and we continuously work to improve the experience for all users by applying recognised accessibility standards as part of how we design and build our products.
This statement describes the standard we measure ourselves against, the current accessibility status of our platform, what we have achieved so far, and the areas we are still working to improve.
Conformance Status
We assess the Avy platform against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard referenced by European accessibility legislation. Our ambition is to keep pace with later versions of the guidelines as our accessibility work matures.
Avy is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means that most of the platform meets the standard, while some parts do not yet fully conform. The outstanding items are known to us and are being actively remediated.
This status is based on an accessibility audit completed on 13 May 2026, covering our mobile (iOS and Android) and web applications.
Scope
This statement covers the user-interface content generated by the Avy platform across our mobile (iOS and Android) and web applications. The following are outside the scope of this assessment:
- User-uploaded images and files — the accessibility of user-provided content is the responsibility of the content owner. Images that form part of our own interface are assessed as part of our screen-reader testing.
- Video captions — where video is present, captioning is the responsibility of the content provider.
- Third-party integrations — embedded content that is not rendered directly by the Avy platform.
- Landscape orientation on native apps — our native apps are currently portrait-locked on both iOS and Android; users who wish to work in landscape are directed to the web experience.
How we assess accessibility
Each module is tested manually, complemented by automated tooling. Our methods include:
- Screen readers — VoiceOver (iOS / macOS) and TalkBack (Android), checking content announcement, labelling of interactive elements, reading order, and the ability to complete flows without visual reference.
- Keyboard navigation — reachability of all interactive elements, logical focus order, and visible focus indicators.
- Text scaling — readability and layout integrity at up to 200% system font size, with no clipping, overlap, or loss of functionality.
- Automated checks — tap-target sizes and contrast ratios validated against platform guidelines and WCAG thresholds, with web pages additionally scanned using axe-core.
Each module receives an accessibility health score weighted by the impact of open findings on assistive-technology users. Of 14 modules in scope, 10 were scored in the latest pass, averaging 94%, with the majority in the highest (“excellent”) band. The remaining modules are in re-audit or still in progress.
What works well today
- Most assessed modules — including Overview, My Home, the Move-in and Move-out guides, Notice Board, and Cases — score in our “excellent” band.
- All interactive elements are reachable by keyboard, with no keyboard traps detected.
- Layouts adapt (reflow) correctly at narrow viewport widths in the areas tested.
- Colour contrast is managed centrally through our design-system colour tokens and themes.
Known limitations
Screen reader
- On the login flow, a control on the email sub-page is not reliably reachable with VoiceOver (iOS). This is our highest-priority fix and is in progress.
- In a few areas, section headings are presented as plain text, which means screen-reader users cannot navigate between them by heading (for example, parts of Overview and Cases).
- In Profile, one control announces an unclear instruction, and an email field is announced more than once.
- Our Davy chat assistant has not yet been assessed separately; accessibility improvements for it are in progress.
Keyboard and focus (web)
- There is not yet a “skip to main content” shortcut for keyboard users.
- The focus indicator can be difficult to see against some colour palettes.
- Some navigation controls use technically imprecise roles, and one navigation control triggers a focus event twice per cycle.
Text scaling
- At 200% font size, some elements truncate rather than reflow — specifically the bottom navigation labels on mobile, one login screen on Android, and certain card headers on Overview.
Web page structure
- The page language is not yet declared, and page titles are not unique or descriptive per view. Some interactive elements need their roles refined.
Forms and status messages
- Error messaging and dynamic status announcements are under review and have not yet been verified across all forms.
Contrast
- Contrast is managed through design-system tokens; verification of every individual element is still being completed.
Our ongoing commitment
We identify issues on a continuous basis and re-audit modules once fixes are in place. We run internal accessibility audits on a regular cadence, and it remains our ambition to complement these with external audits, so that we can be confident our products live up to accessibility standards over time.
